What we can do
Overseas Human Resources Collaboration
Pathways to Securing Overseas Human Resources
In Japan, there are several methods for acquiring overseas human resources, including technical intern trainees, but each method has its challenges. For example, with technical intern trainees, they must return to their home country with the skills they have acquired after a certain number of years, and one of the challenges is that those skills do not ultimately remain with the employer. Therefore, it is necessary to consider employment contracts on the premise that they will continue to be involved with the company from the beginning, but then the language problem arises. To put it simply, because Japan is not globally open, the barrier of “Japanese” stands high when it comes to securing overseas human resources. However, the story changes if you consider doing business overseas rather than bringing them to Japan. We have various know-how regarding how to utilize and employ overseas human resources.

Growing Overseas
It is common for each country overseas to have a growth rate several times that of Japan. Therefore, there are many people with very aggressive mindsets, and Japanese management will be taken aback. Naturally, they are also aware that their compensation will increase by several percent per year. Of course, since the base compensation is lower compared to Japan, the increase in compensation is within the acceptable range from a Japanese perspective, but the human resource strategy will differ completely depending on whether you are going to operate as a “Japanese corporation” or fully become a “local corporation.”

Do Not Control
Sharing the strategy and thoroughly understanding it are important points, and managing actions is often not appropriate. It is important to clarify achievement goals and thoroughly evaluate them. It is said that Japanese companies are also recently moving towards such evaluations, but from our perspective, the fundamentals are too different, and we do not feel that the evaluation methods are becoming the global standard. Personnel with a strong desire to step up individually have high mobility, and it is necessary to consider this on the premise that they will not stop.
